about me

I'm a 20-something first-year teacher, working in third grade. I'm on the East Coast, working in a big district with a large ESOL population (something very new to me - the program I earned my MT from did not work with many ESOL students). I am both excited and terrified about my first year of teaching - coming from a family of teachers, I've heard all the stories there are, and I know this year will not be easy. What I learned in student teaching was simply that the kids make every stressful meeting or panic-inducing phone call worth it, and so I'm mostly itching to be in my classroom and learning as much as I can from my first class.

I hope you can learn with me as I dive headfirst into teaching, and that you give me feedback as I go along!

A note: I am writing this under a pseudonym, because I want to keep my personal and professional lives separate.
